When positions expire in OSCAR, it creates uncertainty throughout the law clerk hiring process. Law schools can't properly advise their students, and applicants can't tell if you've completed your hiring or if positions are still available. This leads to unnecessary applications and confusion about your chambers' hiring status. Most importantly, expired positions leave stale data in the system that doesn't accurately reflect your current needs.
